Dear friends,
we would like to invite you, your colleagues and friends, to join us in the intensive educational programs, organized by Ekvilib Institute within the framework of the initiative Global SOFA (Global State OF Art) – art for social change.
In April, May and June 2012 we will organize the following intensive courses:
THEATRE WORKSHOPS: Theatre of the Oppressed
Application deadline : 25th March 2012
When: 4th April – 2nd July 2012 on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5PM to 9PM
Lecturers: Barbara Polajnar, Urša Adamič, Aja Rogina,Gregor Kamnikar, Sabina Blumauer, Janez Janša, Skupina Kitch, Juš Milčinski, Dragana Alfirević
Theatre of the Oppressed is a combination of techniques, methods and exercises which Augusto Boal, actor and visionary designed in 1960ies. Through artistic work this approach gives a voice to different groups which are overheard in the society and therefore “repressed”. This is a theater which instead of creating an illusion, gives a voice to the audience and empowers it for mutual communication and problem-solving.

Slovene speakers as well as English speakers are welcome to apply for the courses. The working language will be determined based on the prevailing language knowledge of the groups. If necessary, simultaneous translation will be provided.
The participants will be able to rent the equipment (digital cameras, digital darkroom…). We can also cover the travel costs and the basic accommodation to individual participants who live outside of Ljubljana. The educational programs are free of charge.
In case you know anyone who would be interested in the courses, please forward this invitation to him/her, together with the description of the programs. Priority will be given to members of different ethnic minority groups, national minorities and migrants.
An event where you can learn more about the programs will be organized on 15th March 2012 between 5.45 and 6.30 PM in Kapelica Gallery at Kersnikova 4 in Ljubljana.
