The national landline telephone provider is Telekom Slovenije. You can get any information you need regarding their services at http://www.telekom.si/. To use public telephone booths, you need to buy phone cards at post offices and newspaper kiosks. Public telephone phone cards have various quantities of call units (from 25 to 300 call units).
Almost the entire country has mobile phone network coverage. Mobile phone providers have contracts with the major European and global providers. Mobile phones operate in Slovenia at a frequency band of 900 MHz and 1800 MHz. You can also opt for a contract with a mobile phone provider of choice or a pre-paid mobile system.
